about me
Newlywed (at 34), first house (at 35) and first baby (maybe at 36? with help from a few fertility doctors?). Call me a millenial or call me late to the party, but wasn't I supposed to be a grownup by now?
I'm an unemployed journalist living in Toronto and you can call me M. I've written for big publications across North America and the UK and I was unceremoniously laid off (kind of, it's a long story) a few months ago. Which leads me to where I am now: 36, starting IVF and working on the 100-year-old house my husband and I bought a couple of weeks before my imminent (in retrospect) unemployment. Suffice it to say, I'm nowhere near perfect. Neither is my house, my marriage, my road to motherhood, or anything else, really. But isn't that what makes it fun??
If you're down for that, join me as I try to piece together that life we were all told to want. I'll tell you if it's worth it. Along the way, I'm going to make my house look damn pretty and I'll be super real about those hormone injections (yikes).
(PS When this finally happens, I'm totally gonna be the kind of mom that accidentally leaves the house with her shirt on backwards. Expect no "sponsored by J Crew posts", k?)
